Either you might have not filled the TAN No. or selected the wrong account.

The documentation is still good and around 95% of the things apply to NAV 2009 SP1.

I have pass a TDS entry-
    let,
    1) Audit Expenses A/C .................Dr 1,000
    To Party Ledger A/C 1,000
    (Being ....................................)

    2) Party Ledger A/C...........................10
To TDS on Audit expenses A/C 10
    (Being...............................................)

    3) Party Ledger A/C....Dr 990
    To Bank A/C 990
    (Being............................................)

but now I want to pass only two entries one for booking Invoice and 2nd for deducting TDS and pay to party(after deducting TDS) .............

    1) Audit Expenses A/C .................Dr 1,000
    To Party Ledger A/C 1,000
    (Being ....................................)

    2) Party Ledger A/C...........................1,000
To TDS on Audit expenses A/C 10
    To Bank A/C 990
    (Being...............................................)

when I passed the 2nd entry, party a/c show outstanding amount RS. 1,000 but it should show RS. 990 (why TDS amount not deducting from party ledger??) why this is happening???????

I cannot explain all the concepts and methods of TDS here on the forum. You should refer to TDS manual mentioned above to solve your basic queries.
