BOM Descriptions

We use Bill of Materials to sell furniture sets with, using the chairs / tables / parasols as the components, it works perfectly on the Sales Order and through the POS.

Now they want to be able to produce signage and information on the products from the original Item No linking in the BOM items, I have made reports to do this which work fine.

My questions is, when I add a Item to the BOM it auto pulls in the description, can this description be edited to make more sense? Some of our descriptions are not customer friendly. The real problem I have is I dont want staff editing the BOM description and then the actual Item description is replace.

Can someone enlighten me please.
