Can users be logged in when following year end procedures?

We are aware of the steps involved in closing the Fiscal Year and Running the Close Income Statement Batch Job. Do these processes need to be ran when all users are logged out? Is there any issues running these while users are logged in?

Any details of known issues would be appreciated.

We run it with people logged in - as always - when you post it will lock tables preventing those from working but from my experience it's not too long at all.

PS.. you guys must be on the ball!! We usually don't close anything for good until feb or march - just to make sure all last minute adjustments have been made.

No, the users can be in and do data entry as usual.

You can Close the income statement multiple times in NAV. In another words, you can close it on January just so you can get some preliminary financials out to the owners. Then close the year again after you put in your year end adjustments from the CPA.
