Is MSDE (MSSQL Svr 2000) req. for Nav 4.0 SP3 Native DB?

I have had Navision 4.0 SP3 native database installed on Server 2003 for a few years and now have a problem with a TIME CLOCK application that uses MSDE (Microsoft SQL Server 2000) located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\

Is it safe to uninstall/reinstall it without affecting my NAV 4.0 SP3 native database? I believe the two are unrelated but want to make sure. Now that I think about it, I periodically take a backup of the native database and restore it to a TESTING server and have no problems with it and I didn't do anything special or related to MSDE so I guess it's okay to trash MSDE, just want to confirm this for sure?

Thanks.
Half-empy or half-full how do you view your database?

Thanks.
