back color of noneditable but focusable text box

Hello, I didn't find it by search on this forum ...
Is it possible to change background color of NONEDITABLE but FOCUSABLE text box?
I did it only by placing colored rectangle under text box, but when i scroll through grid (text box is connected to grid) , I see how it is redrawing and I do not like it.
