error while sending mail through gmail smtp

hi,
i am getting this error while sending mail through gmail smtp with IMAP and SMTP.
i have configure it in outlook 2003 successfully but when i am using it in nav then it's throughing this error
error"530, response:5.7.0 must issue a STARTTLS command first".
incoming mail server -- imap.gmail.com
outgoing mail server -- smtp.gmail.com
