RTC Reports will not run on client machine + compile error!

Hi,

I just did an upgrade from 5.0 to NAV 2009 SP1. Classic reports run fine, but when I try to run ANY (even un-modified ones) report from the RTC I get:

Metadata is in a failed state. Report #### does not exist.

I decided to try re-compiling all objects and I am getting this compile error on ALL reports:

It is not possible to instantiate the Visual Studio bridge.

What does that mean?? Do I need Visual Studio installed on the client machine just for reports to compile?

Nav references a ssrsc dll file to compile the RDL section. I'm guessing it's missing from your pc.

Have you installed .NET 3.5 runtime and the report viewer from the product dvd?

Yes I installed them both. I ended up re-uploading all the reports (only) from my work PC (where I did the original upgrade) and now they are working .....BUT they are still giving the same compile error. It is not possible to instantiate the Visual Studio bridge.
