NAV 2009 R2 - Will it support SQL 2005?

I have searched Partnersource but not been able to find anything about the system requirements for the upcoming R2 release.

I need to know if SQL 2005 is going to be supported, as we are just closing a deal which just recently changed from SP1 to R2. The solution is going to be using an existing SQL 2005, which for several reasons isn't planned to be updated to SQL 2008 within the NAV 2009 R2 project timeframe.

Thanks in advance.
Regards
Peter

While I have not seen any official word, I expect that it will. Since SQL 2005 is under mainstream support until April 2011. NAV typically supports stuff that is in maintream support.

I have the same question with Windows Server 2003. Which ended mainstream support in July 2010. Has 2009 R2 been tested on it and wil it be officially supported?

    Hi,

because there is no official annouce that the system requirements changed I think it will be same as for NAV2009.

    Windows Server 2003 SP2
    Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2
    Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP2

Windows 2003 is not supported any more by Microsoft. You need at least Windows 2003 R2.

My same question still applies since Windows Server 2003 R2 also had then same Mainstream Support ending date of 7/13/2010. Will it be supported for NAV 2009 R2 and how long into the future.

Windows 2003 R2 is still supported and is probably compatible with NAV2009R2 (I didn't see a list of supported OS). I think we will have to wait until the 15th.
