Deposit vs Cash Receipts

I am not sure if I read this somewhere or just thought it worked this way, but when posting deposits, I thought it was possible, when using the deposit ticket, to post only bulk g/l entries vs. posting two entries per receipt line. Is this something that can be setup? When I post, it posts like Cash Receipts (multiple entries).
