SQL denydatawriter

Hi there. I put it here because I don't see anywhere to put Navision-related SQL issues.

I want somebody to be able to read a Navision database but do be able to change absolutely NOTHING.

I was thinking that uf you changed the SQL permisions to denydatawriter, the user would be unable to do any update. But apparently he can modify things :-k

Any idea?

NAV uses Application Roles to handle user permissions. SQL permissions assigned directly to the user are meaningless. The exception is making a user DB_owner
There are no bugs - only undocumented features.

Best is to create new role with the permissions, remove all except read permissions and assign this role to the user.
