Function VARIANT2TIME gives an error in RTC

When using the function VARIANT2TIME to translate a variant that is datetime to a time the RTC gives a nice error
"The supplied object is not a Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Runtime.NavTime."

It looks like this function is not available for the RTC. Does anyone know why?

does it work in classic? you could format to string and then evaluate it.

Yes it works OK in Classic. And yes there are ways to bypass this it's just weird that the function doesn't work in RTC
