You need a hotfix for Vista and Windows 7. Or even better : upgrade to NAV2009SP1. NAV 4.0SP3 is not supported anymore.

I would guess that your NAV 4.0 SP3 database has been opened with a newer version of the NAV client. You should then upgrade all clients to this version (or search the forum for ways to downgrade the database back to 4.0 SP3).

my requirement is to create a developer toolkit DB for NAV 5sp1. For creating db i need to start from 4sp3 db rght?? :?
NDT is 2.00sp3 version

I am seeing this error more and more these days. Most commonly with English language layers other than US and W1. In cases where a cumulative hotfix was applied to 4.00sp3 but even recently in 2009 (no sp). There seem to be some cases where the STX files of some English layers (IN, NZ, AU, etc.) seem to be missing some keys. Upgrading one build I have not seen it, its mostly in the cumulative fixes. In most cases of course the customer license wont work with US STX, and sometimes there are issues using W1.

What build is this happening in?

Ignore my comments, they are about a completely different error.

This version won't run on Win7.

This hotfix also works on Windows 7 ... but is not supported by Microsoft. I know because I asked MS support before, and this was their answer:

I've been running 4.0 SP3 build 25143 on Windows 7 without any problems for almost a year now

nav 4sp3 product download available in partner source seems to be updated with Update 6 build 25143. would check wth it & will keep posted.

We are running the 25143 build on Windows Server 2008 R2. Should run on Win 7.
