SQL UPDATE Error upon importing license

I have a new 'demo' install of NAV 2009 SP1 on Windows 7. I let NAV install basic SQL and other coponents as required.
Installing as Admin, all looks ok. When I try to upload my license file into the database via the Classic Client, I receive the following error:
229, "4200:, Microsoft, ODBC SQl Server Driver, SQL Server, The UPDATE permission was denied on the object $ndo$srvproperty, database, 'master', schema 'dbo'.
I tried giving sysadmin to the user, but I received an error message saying the user does not have permission for this action.
Any advice?
