'Bill of Materials' Field in Item Table

Dear Friends,

I am migrating the database form version 3.6 to version 5 sp1, How to handle the field called 'Bill of Materials' of item table which is available in version 3.6 and version 4 in version 5. When i compile the objects after merging and migration in version 5 it says the field is unknown in version 5. how to fix this. Is it advisable to just comment the coding wherever the field shows up or should i do something else.

also BOM component table doies not exist in version5. where ever the variable refering to this table is declared, how to handle it in the customised objects of version3.6?

Bill of Materials from the assembly list has been removed in the newer versions. It's been replaced by Kits.
