Change Posting Date on Reversal Entry

One of our client want to change the posting date on a reversal entry. I want both functional and technical help to know that
is it possible to do functionally and technically. Also come with some facts that, what are the possible complications and pain areas.

If posting date is changed then it is not reversal but a rectification voucher which should be posted manually. One of the key feature of reversal is that it is posted with same document number are debit is reversed with -debit amount and the same is with credit amount thus making it a zero effect voucher.
If you change the posting date this will lead to non-sequential voucher no. series and also same voucher number posted on 2 diff. dates .
