RTC Trial Balance Detail/Summary Crash 2009SP1NA

So, I'm posting this one here to see if anyone else has run into it, at the same time I'm going to pop open a Microsoft Support Incident on the matter.

Simple enough: 2009 SP1 NA Report 10021 in RTC only (works fine in classic) will die if the report dataset includes more than around 70,000-80,000 G/L Entry Transactions.

I tested this with 6.0 SP1 (6.00.31143), so I'm pretty up on my Hotfixes. I created 10,000 transactions (just $1 back and forth between two G/L accounts) per day for 10 consecutive dates.

If I run for days 1-7, it's fine. If I include the 8th day, when the report "completes" ("Report is being generated" completes) I simply get this error message:

An error occurred during local report processing.
The Hidden expression used in table 'Table1' returned a data type that is not valid.

Anyone else on here ever run across this? This client recently (grudgingly) moved to the RTC, so I'm trying to avoid as many "that you'll have to run in Classic" areas as possible.

I'm getting this same issue with a client having a large number of entries. What was the result of the support incident with MS?

Apologies for not seeing your follow-up, but the only answer I've found so far (I've not scoured/tested R2) is to run large volume reports in Classic. :?

Is there any particular reason there are no commas in the RTC Detail report - despite the fact that the formatting fields are present???

Bump on this. For me it appears to be limited to cases where there is no data. As an experiment I've deleted all the "hidden" cells used for the header data (replacing the header references) and I still get it. I suspect there may be an issue with one of the expressions used for a "Hidden" property but I haven't been able to narrow it down yet.
