Two backup files created.

Hi All,

My client using Nav 2009 with RTC. Two Backup files are creating in the target location, after completion of the backup.

Ex. If the backup file name is TodayBackup.fbk then two files are created with the name Todaybackup.fbk and Todaybackup2.fbk

They are using SQL2005 version.

Can you please help me how can i over come this problem.

There is no any problem in creating two backup file. Microsoft dynamics navision automatically create
backup file as per the database size. when your database is increase then it create three backup file.

Indeed, as the max. size of a fbk-file is 2 GB.

Inheritance of the old 16-bit FAT of the old DOS days...

And like bbrown says: why not use SQL backups? They are a lot faster (the same for the restore) and they can be made while everyone is working.
