A backorder is when there is not enough stock available for a sales order and it has to be ordered from a vendor

Dear Sbansal,

I won't explain more because this forum is for problems at hand, and not training. I suggest you either search for training materials or press F1 in NAV on the qty. in back order field (sales line). Or contact a partner who gives training.
either way, I won't start explaining everything that can fall under "back order".
