Save view in Navigation pane with Work Date

Can someone tell me how to create a saved view in the Navigation Pane which uses the Work Date?

An example of this can be found in the role center for the Order Processor. In the Navigation pane there is a saved view for Sales Orders Ready to Ship. The filter includes "Shipment Date is >=[date]". If you change your work date then [date] changes accordingly. When I try to create a similar saved view it just uses the date when I created the saved view.

Any ideas?
