I have found out the replacment for FRX (Management Reporter) will not be available for NAV until 2012 - which of course means it may slide further.
The Integration Designer software will only run on SQL Server 2005 32 bit Standard because it uses DTS for the data transfers and only runs on 32 bit.
It also requires Windows Server 2003 32 bit as well.
Does anyone know of an alternative to the Integration Designer for getting data into FRX?
Has anyone written their own integration routines?
MY client already has a significant investment in FRX licenses sold by their former partner - who did not warn them it would not run in their environment. They also have good internal expertise with the FRX product from a prior company running GP.
Frankly, I am surprised that Microsoft would keep a "supported" product that requires using obsolete technology. Before 2012, I expect we will have another full Windows Server version and SQL Server version.
