Is ISS required for the Role tailored client?

I'm reading contractional statements in different books about this topic:
- 'Implementing Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009', page 20, is mentioning that the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Service Tier does NOT use ISS. Instead it is build on Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).
- The 'Microsoft Official Training Materials for Microsoft Dynamics' regarding 'NAV 2009 Installation & Configuration' exam says: 'Briefly, the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Service functions as a hub that handles requests coming from the new clients through Web services. The Web service is hosted by Internet Information Services (IIS). This is responsible for authentication (security) and thread management (performance).

I'm confused.

WCF is correct, IIS is historically correct, but was changed before release to WCF, but the manuals and certification questions are still working with it as a reality (were not updated)...

So, the answer should be: no the role tailored client is not using IIS.

But this is a tricky issue. How do you know if exam questions are using the updated info or using historical info?

Because I made the certificate exam year ago (and I think that nobody updated it). But it is easy to answer,if there is WCF, it is correct, if there is not WCF but IIS, it is correct answer.
