Nav 5.0 SP1 client on windows 7 64 bit with 3.7 cside db

Will it work? We have 3.7b clients accessing a 3.7b database through XP. We are getting some new machines with Windows 7 and I tried the 3.7 client and it would not run. If I put a 5.0 SP1 client on the windows 7 machine, will it access the 3.7 database?

You need to put an update client build for 5.01 to run under windows 7, search for windows 7 and you will find what you need

Using newer client with older DB is named "Technical upgrade". It could be done, but you need to use the new client version on all workstations. After you upgrade the db with this client, you cannot open it with older one. And depends on which DB Server you are using, Native or SQL?

Thanks for the input... got that sorted out. Next step is when I run the 5.0 client and try and access the 3.7 db I get an error that reads "The server and Client do not have the same version number". Tried addressing it by ip address using tcp as the net type. HELP!!

We are using cside (I assume that is native?)

Why not go directly to NAV2009 SP1 executable?

Than you need to upgrade the server first, you cannot connect with client version X to server version Y... same is true for application servers if used...
