Netting in MPS

Hi,
Can anybody tell me how the netting is done in Planning worksheet?.I mean, when a sales order and forecast are there within reorder cycle, which one system will take?. I think which one is highest (Sales order
qty or forecast qty), system will show that in MPS?.
But when I read the manual, I became more confused.How netting is done in the attached figure?. Its from manual, but I didn't get this?.
