Is it possible to set the background color of a field in a matrix form? For example, based on data in the matrix, I want the background of E1, C6, and A8 to yellow so it stands out more.

You can only do that in design and it is for all cells.
If you want to have a different colour per cell, you must use the foregroundcolor that you can set per cell at runtime (you can set it in the OnFormat-trigger).
