How to search date data?

how to search date data

07/01/10 --> It means July 1st 2010
08/01/10
09/01/10
10/01/10

for example today is 08/25/10 (August 25th 2010) , so i will get the record 08/01/10
i want to create No Series automatically for Sales Invoice
so i must get the no series from table 309 (No. Series Line)

If you want to create the automatic No. Series according to dat , say month wise (What I understood).
In series line u can specify more than one No. Series changing the start date.

If the query is different from what I understood, kindly explain.

--> it get the first date of the month
