how to related to original purchase order for return order?

hi,friends:
all the tims,i have a issue for using purchase return order:
we have a lot of purchase return order ,but problem is that return order does not relate to original purchase order.
return order does not aotumatically reduce Qty.received on purchase order,this effects us to makeing invoice and checking account.
does anyone have good solution? thanks in advance

Of course. It is by design

What is the problem? You still have to invoice the Purchase Receipt, although you then return it.
