Expand Database while restoring

ta5ta5 Member Posts: 1,164
Hello
I have a strange behaviour of Nav 2009 SP1 classic with c/side database:
If the database is too small while restoring a full backup into an empty db, with older versions the restore just completed when selecting extras, restore if the restore process was interrupted because of too small db. This was imho always the behaviour if the interruption was while the keyes were generated. With 2009 SP1, after expanding the db and selecting extras, restore I get the file dialog and the restore is not resumed. If selecting the backup file I get an error that company xy is already in the database. The companies must then be deleted manually.

Can somebody confirm the different handling of restore in Nav 2009? :?

Thanks in advance
Thomas

    Hi Tomas,

Have noticed the same issue on both GB and W1 releases in Nav 2009 and 2009 SP1 - a small draw back of the new release.

    Hello SD-JR

Thanks for your reply. I'm really wondering why they changed that. Somebody has an idea?

This is a bug in the restore process - it is still intended behavior that you can resume the restore process provided that the interruption occured during the key creation phase.

Please create a support request for the problem via your normal channels.

    Hi Dean
Does there already exist a kb article?

No there is no hotfix for it currently.

A fix will be considered if a support case is raised for the problem, and handled via our Support Engineers.
