Hi,
For the partners out there:
Have any of you processed a License Model Transition from the old granule-based license model to BRL-Business Essentials, specifically when the old license included Form and Page Designer.
Here's what MS is telling us.
The old Form and Page Designer has 100 forms included - this is granule 7120.
BRL/BE does not have granule 7120 - it has granule 7150 which is Form and Page Designer but only 10 forms and pages.
So because we have granule 7120, we can transition ONLY to BRL-Advanced.
However, my position is that we should be able to substitute granule 7120 for granule 7150, even if we have to re-purchase 100 forms under granule 8300, which IS allowed under BRL-BE.
In other words, if we purchased a new license under BRL/BE, we could get the functional equivalent (100 forms) that we have under our current granule based license.
If any of you have done an actual LMT to BRL/BE for a customer that had form and page designer, please contact me via email or PM - I'd like to talk to you.
Thanks
Ron

Alex:
MS quoted the LMT FAQ document which says the following:
"COMPONENT DEACTIVATIONS: If the customer has deactivated functionality within the last six months the customer will not be allowed to transition to Business Ready Licensing until one of the following actions is taken:
o Reactivate the module. The reactivated module will then be added back to the customer’s Protected List Price at the current list price; or,
o Wait six months from the date the customer deactivated the module.
So you have to wait 6 months in order to transition to BRL if you do that.
I haven't gotten a straight answer from MS as to why this is a policy - thus my question to the MIBUSO world.

It's not likely MSFT will make any exceptions unless special circumstances are involved.
