ÿ instead of Space?

redStriperedStripe Member Posts: 83
Hello,
I import a textfile via a report. In the report I do a Ansi2Ascii conversion.
The Textfile looks like that:
TEXT TEXT|TEXT|TEXT TEXT

After the import the data looks fine in NAV, but when I export it again
with a dataport, the space-characters will be substitute with ÿ
The exported File looks like that:
TEXTÿTEXT|TEXT|TEXTÿTEXT

Why is that?

Can anyone help me?
Thanks.

    There are two different chars for blank space. Maybe you imported the wrong one. I think it was #255.

    txt[1] := 32;
    txt[2] := 255;
    MESSAGE('There are two different chars for blank space:"%1" and "%2"',txt[1],txt[2]);
    txt := GeneralMgt.Ascii2Ansi(txt);
    FileObj.TEXTMODE(TRUE);
    FileObj.WRITEMODE(TRUE);
    FileObj.CREATE('C:\test.txt');
    FileObj.WRITE(
      STRSUBSTNO('But in ANSI these are not blanks: "%1" and "%2"',txt[1],txt[2]));
    FileObj.CLOSE;
