Hi,
We are in need of an Entity Relationship Diagram for Navision Advanced Distribution 2.6C
Does anybody have access to this, or know where it can be found?
Thanks in advance!

Maybe you can use impuls Workbench for Navision Financials.
or try contact this address : http://www.impuls-nbg.de

When will there be a new version of IW?
They have been anouncing it in belgium for over a year. They talk about all kinds of new features like being able to write code directly from IW.

I used ER-Studio for generating an ER-Chart of Navision Financials.
All you have to do is:
- Export the objects as TXT
- Import into ER Studio with an macro
It took me 1 hour to create the macro which based on the standard "Import from Textfile" macro shipped with ER Studio0 -
Could you tell more about ER-Studio:
- Where to get it?
- How much does it cost?

it can be found at http://www.embarcadero.com/
evaluation downloads are possible.
I wrote simple macros to
- import the NF-Textfiles into ERS
- export data into NF-Textfiles
(for tables and lookup-forms only)0 -

Do you want to share your macros with us? Maybe the myNavision.net community can build further on this. The program looks promising. No support using PM or e-mail - Please use this forum. BC TechDays 2024: 13 & 14 June 2024, Antwerp (Belgium)0 -
Please do share the macro. It would be intersting on many levels. Firstly for data modeling of navision. Also, to see how the textfile is read and analysed <img border="0" title="" alt="" src="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif" />

yes, I will share it - in the hope, that further development based on the macros will be shared too. just tell me who is maintaining the ul/dl of this site.
I created the macros during an evaluation of ER-modelling solutions for NF in june/july 2000. the macros are "hacks" but you will find comments in the source.
if there are people that want to build a real er-modelling solution based on er-studio just contact me. although i have not much spare-time we can create a small task-force to create what impulseworkbench is promising since years.0 -
You can use the upload-page of this site to upload your code. Just go to the main page of http://www.mynavision.net and select the Upload menu on the left.

Hello
Thanx for sharing this with us)
How do you use the macros ? What do I do if I would like to import the navision objects and make a E/R diagram in ER Studio ?

Mr. Gustav Jensen0 -
For using the macros you have to use ER-Studio Version 4.02 or above.
- Install ER-Studio
- copy the macros into the ..\macros\ directory
- export tables from NF as textfile
- launch the macro in ER-Studio and select the textfile
have fun,
martin0 -
I don't see the diagram after importing the txt-objects.
I use ER/Studio v4.21. Create a new data model. Go to Tools, Basic Macro Editor. Open the Navision Import with text.bas macro and run it. Select the txt-file.No support using PM or e-mail - Please use this forum. BC TechDays 2024: 13 & 14 June 2024, Antwerp (Belgium)0 -
hi luc!
please send me your navision-textfile to crosscheck.

martin0 -
my macros for version 4.02 are NOT working with current version 4.21 !!!!
i crosschecked this with some files from luc and i sent an email to embarcadero.
will come back when i get the reply.
bye,
martin0 -
Hallo Martin!
have you ever heard anything from embarcadero concerning your macro? Using your macro I could import the text files, but the relations are missing! It would be great if that problem could be solved.
Thank you
Regards
Sandra :-)0
