Page DropDown / AltSearchField

I have set the AltSearchField on the PK of a table, which works from classic client, but does not appear to work on RTC.
Anyone had to use this before?

On the other hand, i made a fieldgroup "DropDown" which works great, but the find as you type only works on the PK field as well.

Any ideas, tips, ... ?

I found when i change the "default filter column" in the RTC it works as i want.
Is it possible to set the default filter column without the user having to select it?
