How to transform an SQL- Backup into a native Database?

Hi all!

Can someone tell me how to Build up a native Navision Database out of an SQL backup (for Testing)? Or is this not possible?

Sorry for stupid Question, but i´m a Beginner on administrating a Navision Database.

Hi,

This is not possible. You can restore sql backup and from Nav create another *.fbk backup ... then you can use it for native.

Yes, that's correct. You could only restore a native database by .fbk backup. You should search the forum and some official documents for how to restore those backups. Because there are some things you have to keep in mind and it sounds to me that you're doing it for the first time.

I only have an SQL-Backup of the state I need to recover so I have to set up a new SQL server.
