File "backup file name" was not found

I am trying to do a restore of an upgraded 2009 backup file.
I have created the database and the restore runs to 100% and then I get the message above, stating that it can't find the backup file that it was using to do the restore.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be happening here?
Dbase is SQL 2005, OS is W2K3, should be lots of disk space available.

Are you restoring through NAV or SQL? If through NAV, do not forget that NAV backup file have max. 2GB and if more is needed, NAV will create new file with new name (incrementing number in the name). You need all these files to be able to restore the backup.
