Subcontracting Doubt

Hai all,
we are using NAV 5.0 SP1 Indian version. we are using subcontract process very often. it seems that the subcontracting orders are not getting deleted even after fully received and invoiced. could any one please explain me why these orders are required even after invoiced and the respective Production orders are closed, what is the necessity? Its not allowing me even to delete manually.
