Item Tracking Error while posting Warehouse receipt.

Hello,
We are using Nav 5.0 US version. I created a Purchase order for a Item A1 and than created a warehouse receipt. from Warehouse receipt we have given the lot No. info for this. But during receipt posting it throws an error lot no. XXX does not exist ...
but when we go on the lot information card and drill down the quantity field and try to post the receipt it is posting.
Is it a bug or m i misssing something?
