Second Database

I have NAV 2009 running in a three tier environment.

I need to set up a new database (not a new company) and am wondering, should I install another service, new name and then point those clients to the new Server Instance in their CustomUserSettings.

Is there a document about how to set up two separate databases - same environment?

You just have to create a new service and point it to the other database...as far as I know anyway.

In theory, that's what I wast then thinking too. But what about that customsettings file that belongs to the service?

Each service has its own CustomSettings.config file. When you create the new service (see Freddy's blog for a nice tutorial) it will create a new folder in the install directory with the files.
