C/ODBC - Access 2007 Field Limit

One of our customers is creating a link table in Access 2007 and there are more than 255 fields in their Item table (table they are creating the link). At first they did not know the problem, it would only show upto 255 fields, they just noticed that some of the fields they wanted to use were not there.
Does anyone have a work around for this?
They do want to use a Link table for reports, they are using C/SIDE database, not SQL.
