log of changes not working correctly

hi,
i am using nav 5.01 with sql database, months ago my log of changes stopped registering changes, what can i do to make it work correctly again ?

Check your setup that the change log is enabled and the tables and fields which to log are set up.

I had this a little while ago; at least it looked like it, I went to the end of the customer's
huge
changelog table and there were no new records.
It turns out the autoincrement index had been reset back to zero at some point and the new records were being added near the 'beginning' of the table.
