I recently made a change to the Purchase line form to add a function to Add Fixed Asset. It was not difficult.
A purchase order is issued before serial numbers are known.
The company that I did this for uses RMI's Rental Advantage. Rental Advantage has a type Product. I added Product as a type to the Purchase Line table (and Posted Purchase Invoice table and archive table). The user enters the Product No., and other information. The serial no. is entered when known, and then the user can choose to add the Fixed Asset. The function creates the Fixed Asset, and changes the Type on the Purchase Line to Fixed Asset, and the No. to the new Fixed Asset number.
