Kitting and applied entries

Something appears to be incorrect with kit posting. The consumption item ledger entries are not applying to existing item ledger entries.
Anyone has similar issues? Is it a setting?

Check the posting dates if they are correct. If posting date of consumption is before posting date of open entry, it will not apply.

No, I checked the posting dates. They are fine.

I did some testing in a standard native NAV 2009 SP1 database. It turns out that consumption Item entries are not applying if the costing method is ‘Average’. I tested a couple of scenarios. With ‘FIFO’ it works fine.
Any ideas?

Item Application deals with costing. With average cost, items are relieved based on the average cost of the day, not to individual open entries.
