user account syncronizasion with SQL server

Hi,
Can anybody tell me what server role should be assign to user on sql server and also what database should be map to user ID when new users are created on SQL server and before user account syncronision on NAV 5.0.

"Public" role is given to the user and the database where the user has to log in is to be mapped with Public.

Thanks for the assistance,

But i did assign assign public server role to the user and map to the user to the database and assign public to the user. but users with NAV super user role can log in but could'nt change there password and users without NAV super user role can not log in. but i later give an additional privilledge to the user by assignining to them database owner role, and the problem seems to be over, i dont know if there is other way of soving this problem without giving the users database owner role.
Note that, I'm runing SQL server 2008 and NAV 5.0, and I'm using database authentication.
