Lanham EDI Format

I’m trying to use trim the barcode by setting the Copy String Position = 2, Copy String Length = 12 so the 1st digit is ignored. But the number still show all 13… Do I need to set any other flag??? Insert position, \Insert into Field etc?

Is this an EAN-13 barcode? Because, if you remove a leading zero from an EAN-13 barcode the bars produced are exactly the same.

It's the old problem that Americans are usually provincial and can't see past their own belly. So, in this case, the Europeans extended the 12 digit UPC-A barcode to 13 digits by making the Americans zero in the new encoding and spreading the additional digit through the first half of the barcode. As you can imagine the Americans weren't very happy about this; but in the end have been forced to upgrade from UPC-A to EAN-13. This is as of the beginning of 2005 when all shops in U.S.A. must accept the EAN13 code so there is no longer reason to produce UPC-A codes.
