Same document numbers, different posting dates

Hello,

Is it normal that there are value entries with the same document numbers but different posting dates? If it's normal, how can it happen? The uniqueness of the document numbers are enforced appropriately; namely duplicate posted document numbers can not be used in the system.

The adjust item cost routine can post a duplicate document number, when you have a close period transaction that needs adjusting. the system will post the entry in the open period date you specify when you run the adjust item routine.
