who created the document .

Hi ,


Can i know why Navision did not have the functionality about who created the document and who posted the document in the document it self? ( Purchase order , sales order , Purchase receipt and sales shipment)

I am not aksing about the change log , i want in the document it self.

I think there might be some reason .

could any expert share about this one.

zoom in the header there should be a "user id" field

you're right - I've made the change so long ago I forgot it wasn't standard.

I've added (for example) on the insert trigger of the sales header table

creating a sales order has no financial impact and once it's posted, you can see the USER ID.
It's a useful field in addition to add field inserted Datetime to many documents.
Since you can capture the userid using changelog, adding another field to a already big table will just add to size of the table.

You can suggest this to MS. They might give you a yea or nay and maybe a why.

If you want a definitie answer you'll have to ask Microsoft. We didn't create the product , we just use it.

The same answer is applicable - there is, in reality, no financial impact - there could be an average cost alteration, but financially there is none, so if you accept it as an answer on the sales order the same applies. I would prefer the documentation creation was captured, but then what about alterations and reprints - do you start archiving etc. MS will not give you an answer in all probability, because they did not design it. In my opinion it was not seen as business critical and was not added. Add it to connect and it maybe in the 2018 release
