Slow fob import

Hi all,
I have a table (Value Entry) that has lots of data of several companies. Total size of the tables is nearly 10 GB. I make minor developments to this table; for instance making code changes or property changes. But saving those kind of developments takes so much time. I know that adding new field to a table takes time because new field in every row is updated for preventing null values. But why does it take so much time to make non-adding-field developments? Is there a way to shorten the saving time?
The problem also rises up when importing fob of such a table. Importing is necessary because test database and live database are to be synchronized.

There are several possible reasons, what version of Navision, including the build number are you using.Robert de Bath

Yes, I remember 5 SP 1 having an issue with vSift indexes being rebuilt every time you'ld change something to the table, even if there was no change to the fields.
If I remember correctly this bug was solved.
Also when using 2009 with the servicetier it takes longer to generate the C# code.0 -
Navision 5.01 TR (Unfortunately I couldn't find the build number)

Thank you Mark,
Is it possible to post the link of the hotfix?Cem Karaer @ Pargesoft

There is a cumulative update available for 5SP1. I would try that.

With this link, you don't need to search for the list: http://dynamicsuser.net/blogs/waldo/archive/2009/09/17/platform-updates-overview-3-70-b-nav2009-sp1.aspx
And also Microsoft followed Waldo's example:

Hi Cem, it's easy to find the build number. Click the Help menu and select 'About'. Then, on the form that pops up, doubleclick on the version number. This pops up a dialog box with the build number.cemkaraer wrote:Unfortunately I couldn't find the build number
Another way is to browse to the installation folder, and hover your mouse over the executable. This should show the file properties of the executable file, and the build number is part of the 'File Version' property. For instance, my finsql.exe file says 'File Version: 6.0.92626.0', which stands for NAV 2009 SP1 (although the 'SP1' part is not very clear there), build number 92626.0 -
kapamarou and Denster, thank you both for the explanation.
Here is the build number:
Microsoft Dynamics NAV
Build 26084
