NAV 2009 SP1 Classic report problem

I recently added a dataitem to the posted sales invoice report with another section. The description field stopped printing in the sales line section (integer table). If I created a new field with the same source, it shows up, even in the same position on the layout. I dropped the report to text to see if I could find anything going on that would prevent the fields from printing, but could not find anything.
I ended up deleting the 2 description fields and re-adding them which fixed the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this before or have any ideas why this might have happened?
