Hi

A new customer has Apple computers and would like to use them with Windows 7 and NAV 2009. They will connect to a SQL Server without Active Directory. I have no experience with this configuration but I believe this should not cause any problems, we just need to use database logins. Has anyone an idea if there are potential problems with this configuration?

Additionally they will use a hosted Microsoft Exchange with local installed Outlook clients. Are there any potential problems with Outlook synchronization if the Exchange server is not inhouse? Does this work at all? I can hardly imagine...

Are there any known issues with database logins when using SQL server with classic client and/or RTC without Active Directory?

I would appreciate any help.

Best regards

The RTC requires windows logins, the 'Classic' client should work fine in a workgroup environment with DB logins.

The synchronisation is with outlook not exchange so it should work as well as it ever does. It's not very reliable.
