Data base open error

Can any one help me to identify the following problem.

Today when I open a client it shows, "This function can't be executed while the database is being used by other users". When I stopped the services and restarted the services, after that the error did not come. This kind of error I have faced twice or thrice.

what will be the problem.

Which version you have? Native or sql?
If i were you i would check CU1 if there are suspicious adjustments.

If you use native, i would think you tried to open the database locally instead of using navision server connect.

When u talk about the services, I guess it should be 2009. Am I right?

I use Native database. I have Windows 2003 server and Dynamics 4.0 SP3. Services in the sense Microsoft Dynamics Navision database Server

Let me check up. Because Locally it is not opened, when the user was trying to connect it from remote, they got the error then I have stopped the navision services in the server and restarted again
