search not working on text box

In form if i search for a field it work fine but in text box that add in form i am not able to search.

what are you trying to do? A lookup or drilldown to another table?

in a list form(customer list) if i search cust name on name field it works fine but if i want to add a field(customer name) in customer ledger entry form(not table) to show customer name and after that i trying to search for any customer then it not working(the find window not opening).

hope now you would able to understand what exactly i want to do.

did you add a calculated textbox of customer name in the customer ledger entry list?

Try to use a lookup type flowfield instead...that will make you able to do a find, and even a filter, on the table
you can't do a search/filter on a variable!

but i don't want to add field in table. is it possible only on form?

i can't resist to add this...sorry for the double post...a lookup flowfield is not a real field!and obviously no VSIFT logic is implemented...you should study some manuals before implementing NAV (this is an advice, not a complain)
