Multi-language with 4.0

sil21sil21 Member Posts: 55
I've never done anything with the multi-language capability in Navision and I have a prospect that requires several different languages. Can someone tell me how to get the 4.0 language modules (or when they'll be available). Also - I dont' see any information about the availability (in any versoin ) of a Chinese module . Does this exist? Can the user create their own?

Chinese version exists (3.70). It looks like:

Translation and localization is not done by MS but by MBS Partner ESG.

    Hi Robertmo,

    A little question:
Can we run Navision in English and Chinese version in the same time, same database, and same company?
just buy the chinese module than we could accomplish these, couldn't we?

    HTH,

Yes, but there are some restrictions.

I know I had to change my machine client Input locale from Slovenian to Russian (different codepage), if I wanted to connect to SQL DB 360 created wiht "russian" collation.

So to say it also depends on SQL collation (if client machine codepage matches SQL servers), yet again this checking depends on Navision version...

And of course your IME (Input Method) - Do you want only to see in Chinese/English or also enter some chars...

Try searching forum for collation, IME, etc.
